Referrals
A clear, considered referral process.
We welcome professional referrals for adults aged 18 and over who can live with a degree of independence but need planned housing-related support, as well as self-referral enquiries from adults seeking supported accommodation in Leicestershire. An enquiry starts a conversation, it is not an assessment or a guarantee of accommodation.
Professional referrals
We welcome enquiries from local authorities, housing and homelessness services, probation and resettlement services, social care, health services, charities and other organisations supporting an adult.
Self-referral enquiries
Adults can make an enquiry for themselves. We will explain what information is needed and, where relevant, ask permission to speak with professionals already involved.
How the referral process works

Short initial enquiry
A professional or the person seeking accommodation contacts us with basic details and a brief outline of the current housing situation.

Initial discussion

Information and assessment
We request relevant information and consider support needs, risks, safeguarding, shared-accommodation compatibility, property facilities, availability and funding arrangements.

Decision and next steps
Information we may need
- Personal and contact details, including age and preferred way to communicate
- Current housing situation, reason for the referral and level of urgency
- Housing-related support needs, goals and any accessibility requirements
- Relevant health, safeguarding or risk information that may affect safety or shared living
- Recent accommodation or tenancy history and reasons any placements ended
- Current services, professionals and support network
- Relevant offending, anti-social behaviour or substance-use information where it affects suitability or risk management
- Benefit eligibility, proposed funding arrangements and documents that may be needed later
What we consider
- Whether our housing-related support can meet the assessed needs
- Whether shared accommodation is suitable and identified risks can be managed
- Compatibility with the existing household and the local community
- Whether relevant property facilities and accessibility requirements can be met
- Availability of suitable accommodation
- Whether benefit eligibility, funding arrangements and any other required checks can be confirmed
- Willingness to follow house expectations and take part in agreed support and reviews
Each referral is considered individually. Acceptance is subject to suitability, availability and safeguarding considerations.
